Kyle Bass Continues to Make Predictions

Published / by Alice / 1 Comment on Kyle Bass Continues to Make Predictions

Kyle Bass is the founder and CEO of Highland Capital Management as Wikipedia shows. The company is based in Dallas, Texas. It is run by Kyle Bass. He has been acknowledged by many as a techno guru that has a record of being deciphering economic cycles. There has been so much with the recent developments in China and he states that an approaching financing crisis is imminent. When he attended the Sohn Investing Conference in San Francisco, he spoke about the potential crisis and gave his foreshadowing. He stated he feels it will be even bigger and have a great impact on the entire world. He expects things will become rockier than it did in the crash of 2008. While the global impact won’t be that severe, he does expect the boat to be rocked a bit.

It just so happens that when the crisis of 2008 hit, he predicted what was going to happen. During this time, people thought he was just blowing smoke. However, now that his main prediction came true, people are listening to him now even though he’s also got a reputation as a bit of an investment gambler. He was known as a superstar for quite sometimes and road that high as long as he could. Even all the good he has done can’t outweigh the bad and the horrible calls he has made. It seems that he is always on television sharing his point of view. This conference brought together many people who would listen because China has trillions of dollars standing in reserve accounts.

It doesn’t really matter if they have almost $4 trillion in storage. That kind of money can only go so far when a storm comes blowing in. Less than a decade ago China had a much bigger base. It is estimated that the total net worth of the entire country is about $10 trillion. China is one of the most emerging markets in the country, but they are undercapitalized. If China goes into a recession, it’s going to hurt them big time. It could affect the overall growth of the country by more than fifty percent. As for a recession in the United States, experts don’t feel it will have that dramatic of an effect.

So many people are concerned that when the global economic structures are at a halt that it will cause a recession. Actually, there won’t be any growth in the US either, regardless of what the fall out brings, though it won’t be the end of the world either. The United States already has the banks recapped so that if there is a problem they will have it taken care of. China is anticipating the crisis too. They have bonds printed and this can help them get through times of desperation. It seems that Bass is just so eager to spread all sorts of predictions about the future; the problem is he doesn’t have the best tract record and it’s anyone’s guess who will take him seriously.

Brad Reifler Establishes Forefront Income Trust To Cater For Non-Accredited Investors

Forefront Capital and Brad Reifler have launched an alternative investment program that caters for not-credited investors. The new program is called Forefront Investment Trust. Reifler noted in a MarketWired report  that, for several years, his focus had been on credited investors. The new initiative will focus on non- credited investors that constitute 99% of investors.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stipulates that an accredited investor with spouse should have a net worth or combined net worth of over a million dollars during purchase with their house excluded. Secondly, they should have an income of over $200,000 in each of the past two years. For a joint income with a spouse, it should exceed $300,000 in the past two years with similar expectations in the present year.

The above standards for accredited investors were designed to guard investors from risky investments. With the increase in oversight and knowledge within the past 30 years, there has been a need to change the definition of accredited investors. In 2010, a SEC advisory committee was set up and tasked with the responsibility of changing the definition after every four years. The committee recommended that financial sophistication measures should be used instead of the income and net worth measures created 32 years ago.

After careful analysis and due diligence, Brad Reifler, the CEO and founder of Forefront Capital established Forefront Income Trust. The focus of the trust was to provide the middle class with a workable investment opportunity. The rising student debt in the country, an investment in the 529-college savings plan that went wrong in addition to his father in-law being unable to invest shaped his focus to the middle class. This made him discover the limited chances non- accredited investors had. With a determination to change the situation, he started the fund.

The fund gives non-accredited investors an opportunity to invest a minimum of $2,500 that can be withdrawn or added in each quarter. The structures are designed to offer diversification, mitigate risks and greater room for potential growth. It provides several interesting programs that can offer customers liquidity at a return of 8%. Reifler notes that Forefront does not make any money until the 8% has been attained.

Reifler is an outstanding serial entrepreneur. He is well known as the CEO and founder of Forefront Capital. He was the founding partner, CEO, and chairman of Pali Capital, a firm that offers financial services across the globe. Before establishing Pali Capital, he was a star trader working with Refco. Reifler sold his first venture, Reifler Trading Company, to Refco in 2000.

Reifler has been actively involved in business for over 30 years. He started his first steps in business in the early 1980s. He has achieved great success as both an investor and entrepreneur working for many companies within the United States. Brad Reifler is a graduate of Bowdoin College with majors in economics and political science, as outlined on his Wikipedia page.

Jaime Garcia Dias and The Writer’s Life

Published / by Alice / 1 Comment on Jaime Garcia Dias and The Writer’s Life

Literary writers who are truly committed to their work are a special breed. They are creative spirits who don’t feel fully alive unless they are immersed in their work. These types of writers are typified by their creative output and the passion they put into their work. There’s no doubt that Brazilian author Jaime Garcia Dias is one such creative soul, and the good news for readers is that he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Though he is just 45 years old, Dias has already published an impressive body of work, and still regularly maintains a popular blog. He has already produced over 20 works of fiction, and his work has garnered stellar reviews and many major awards. Most recently had the great honor of receiving the ABC Award of Brazil for Literature.

Dias began his love of literature in childhood a subject he’s been interviewed about for Vimeo. He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and grew up in a family that loved literature and valued education. Both his mother, who was an architect, and his father, a writer, encouraged him to pursue his artistic vision and make it a reality. The great news is that he has spent his life living out their dream for him.

Along with his notable career as a writer, Dias is also an educator and a painter. He began teaching early on and taught for five years at the Carioca Literature Academy. The school is a prepatory school for students who want to purse a career in literature.

Dias credits many of the great writers of Brazil who came before him for keeping him inspired. One of his favorites is the great Jorge Amado. Amado’s long career was truly amazing in its endurance and in its impressive literary output.

Among Amado’s works, Dias cites “Captains of the Sands” and “Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands” as his personal favorites. Both of these works show off the author’s engaging and whimsical spirit. It’s this quality that gives Amado’s work a truly timeless feel. The story of Dona Flor involves a woman who carrie on a relationship with the ghost of her dead husband, even while she is involved with man who is alive. The story was made into a popular film in the 1970s which won world wide acclaim.

As Dias continues on his own path to creative acclaim, the writers of old, and the words of his own family will continue to motivate and inspire him.
