Anthony Petrello is the CEO of Nabors Industries and has been since 2011. From 1979 to 1991 he worked for the law firm Baker & McKenzie as a managing partner in New York. Additionally he is a Director at Stewart & Stevenson as well as a children’s hospital in Texas. He earned his J.D. degree while attending Harvard Law. His M.S. and B.S. in mathematics came from Yale University.
Mr. Petrello’s compensation as CEO of Nabors Industries totals $27,512,939. Of this amount $1,580,077 was his salary, $1,342,206 was from other compensations and $16,863,656 was from stock options. These figures are from his proxy statements filed in 2015.
Mr. Petrello and his wife Cynthia Petrello have a young daughter named Carena. Unfortunately Carena has a neurological condition called periventricular leukomalacia that has severely affected her development. She was born at 24 weeks and her weight was just 20 ounces. Due to her condition she developed cerebral palsy. With the love and care from her parents she can now eat breakfast and chew her own food.
Anthony Petrello and Cynthia began searching for a way to help their daughter and found no transitional research was being done for children. They found a viable opportunity at a children’s hospital in Texas. They are doing everything possible to not only help their daughter reach her potential but other children as well. They receive a lot of support from their friends and family and believe they will find the answer.
Cynthia and Anthony have already donated $5 million for fundraising efforts for a research iniative to help children with this condition.
