Ad agencies are a dime a dozen and finding the right place and the right kind of advertising can be difficult and costly, especially for small businesses. In Brazil, it is even more complicated as there a lot of restrictions, such as The Consumer Defense Code (CDC), The National Council for Self-Regulation in Advertising (CONAR) and other specific laws. These regulations can make it hard for an ad agency to stand out, and Mullen Lowe Brazil has done that thanks to one of the co-CEO’s of the company, Jose Henrique Borghi.
Jose Borghi was born in Presidente Prudente, and attended PUC Campinas where he graduated with a degree in Advertising and Propaganda. His first job was in 1989 with Standart Ogilvy, and he quickly stood out from the crowd. After working for others, he decided to open his own company along with partner Erh Ray and BorghiErh was born. The company became a great success and in December 2009, the company was bought Lowe, becoming Borghi Lowe, having split the presidency with Erh Ray. Lowe and Partners merged with Mullen US, and was known as the Mullen Lowe Group. In Brazil, the company, located out of Sao Paulo was known as Mullen Lowe Brazil with Jose Borghi as co-CEO along with Andre Gomes. The company has become a leader, and Jose Borghi is recognized as one of the 10 most influential advertisers in Brazil.
Mullen Lowe Brazil and Jose Borghi have been recognized for the advertising for Honda, Fiat, and The Down Syndrome Association. There have been awards earned as well such as; 10 Clio Awards, 14 Cannes Lions, 7 London Festival Awards, 11 awards at the New York Festival, 10 The One Show Awards, and 15 April Advertising Awards. Mullen Lowe Brazil continues to grow and has become a voice in Brazilian advertising, along with Jose Borghi.
