Bob Reina has been of great help to the humane society of Tamp, in fact, he has gone above and beyond what most people would do to help an organization that strives to help those who cannot help themselves. He has helped to organize fundraisers, donated video conference software from his company Talk Fusion, and has even adopted a few pets to join him and his family in their home. But now that he has decided that he cannot adopt any more animals to live with his family, he wanted to find another way to help the organization that means so much to his heart. He knew that this new method would have to be something that would make a real difference for the organization and in the lives of the gentle creatures that they work to help. He also knew that just as with everything else in his life, he would have to do something that would get the attention of others so that they would be motivated to help out as well.
After a lot of deliberation and thought he decided that he would help out The Humane Society of Tampa Bay in a grand a glorious way, that would leave people talking for years. He would break the record for single individual donations to the group and give them a massive surge forward in their general operating campaign efforts. He asked them what the record of a single donor was, and even though he almost fainted when he discovered what it would take to break it, He nonetheless pulled out his checkbook and gave with a blessed heart, to the tune of One Million Dollars. The first part of the gift came at the annual charity Gala where he gave $250,000. Later in the year, he completed the gift with another check of $750,000.
Reina figured that this might be a better way to help than to add to his already large family of 11 dogs and cats and the two full-time housekeepers that he employs to keep up with their needs. While he loves all of the dogs he does admit that it is the 5 stray and rescue cats that he is a daddy to that steal his heart more and more each day. Scrappy, Mystery, Chance, Madison and Lucky are like his mischievous and quirky children and bring light to his life (http://www.forbes.com/sites/quickerbettertech/2010/11/10/talk-really-can-be-cheap/#2924b32c4076). The Million dollar donation to the Humane Society of Tampa will help to facilitate adoptions, provide for foster care for animals in need or comprehensive attention, provide for the feeding, sheltering, and medical needs of others, and help to improve facilities for both animal operations and organization administration. Mostly the money will be used to help build a new low-cost vet clinic.
Bob Reina has always been about helping people. He started out as a Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputy before moving on to start a technology company, Talk Fusion, which is the leader in video conferencing software for organizations of all sizes and types. The Talk Fusion suite allows people to connect easily without complicated configurations, downloads, installs, or confusion. With Talk Fusion, the idea is that people can be at their best when they can communicate easily and without delay.
Bob Reina also believes that people can be at their true best when they help others. He has devoted his life to the helping of those how are weaker, less fortunate, or who cannot defend themselves. He empowers his employees to do the same by letting them give away suites of the Talk Fusion software to organizations and groups that they feel strongly about helping. Bob believes that together through effective communication these groups can change the world.
He has certainly changed the world for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, but he has also stated that this is only the beginning. He has big plans to keep helping this organization to grow and be the best that it can be. But for now, he is not going to adopt any more furry members into his family, or at least he probably…more than likely…might not…for now!
